about
David Nevala's early photographic work revealed the keen eye for composition and unique, if skewed, world view that continue to inform his work today. A graduate of Michigan State's School of Business, David began his professional career at a biotech research company, all the while pursuing his twin passions for photography, and endorphin-inducing outdoor adventuring. Extended sabbaticals, during which David led cynical teenagers on wilderness expeditions, proved to be an eye-opening and enriching complement to conducting clinical trials. Upon leaving the relative security of the corporate world, David day-traded, taught and otherwise odd-jobbed his way through the Brooks Institute of Photography. Whether wrangling school children, French farmers, canines, and countless inanimate objects, or biking cross-country with 50 pounds of photographic gear mule-strapped to his back, David endeavors to expand and refine the nascent visual style of his elementary school days.
